WHAT IS CCVOAD?
Cass Clay Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (CCVOAD) is a local, membership-driven, umbrella organization that serves as the forum where member organizations share knowledge and resources throughout the disaster cycle — mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery —
to help disaster survivors within our communities.

CCVOAD is not a service delivery organization. Instead, CCVOAD upholds the privilege of members to independently provide relief and recovery services while supporting their efforts to do so by providing a forum where community nonprofit and faith-based organizations can coordinate, collaborate, cooperate, and communicate in order to reduce the duplication of efforts and foster a more effective and efficient response.
WHAT WE DO
Educate
CCVOAD provides member organizations training and other educational opportunities to increase awareness of likely needs and services in disasters and how to bring about preparedness within individual organizations and the nonprofit community.
Convene
CCVOAD arranges seminars, meetings, training programs, and local conferences to facilitate communications among member organizations and create a prepared nonprofit community that is able to better serve those in need before, during, and after disasters.
Coordinate
CCVOAD provides a network through which member organizations can more effectively address their mission and service goals during all phases of a disaster by communicating and coordinating efforts with other members of the nonprofit community.
Outreach
CCVOAD promotes disaster awareness among nonprofit and faith-based organizations and offers guidance to those organizations that either are, or want to become, involved in disaster issues.
THE HARD TRUTH
60% OF AMERICANS HAVEN'T PRACTICED FOR A DISASTER
ONLY 39% HAVE AN EMERGENCY PLAN
Our Mission
Day-to-Day
Coordinate activities for any nonprofit organization who may be involved in providing services in the aftermath of disaster to help clarify anticipated roles, establish relationships among organizations, share information and best practices, and foster the conditions required for inter-organizational coordination, collaboration, and communication during disasters.

During Disaster
Provide a forum for disaster-related communications among nonprofit and government organizations whose constituents need services and those nonprofits who become involved in providing services within the disaster cycle, with the intention of providing collaborative, coordinated activity on the part of the nonprofit community.
WHO WE SERVE
CCVOAD is a forum for all nonprofit, faith-based, and service organizations in Cass County, ND and Clay County, MN with a desire to assist their constituents and communities in the wake of a disaster.
CCVOAD ultimately seeks to serve all those impacted by disasters by fostering streamlined, efficient delivery of resources and services.
